One Year of Clients: Learning and Growth as an Individual, an Attorney, and a Firm.
As we move into Fall (my personal favorite season) and the Eau de Pumpkin Spice will soon fill the air (my least favorite fall scent), I thought it would be a good time to begin reflecting on the year gone by, what I have learned, and the (metaphorical) walls I have yet to climb. I will be sharing some of the stories about clients I have worked with in this first year and the remarkable breadth and depth of legal services and solutions that I worked with them to plan, create, and implement.
- I will tell you about a start-up IT company that has hired me on a monthly retainer to provide general business law legal services as issues arose with the focus on getting clear and thorough legal solutions which smoothly fit into their business model with quick turn around time.
- I will tell you about a social media consultant who was just starting her business and needed to incorporate and needed a general Social Media Consultant Agreement that she could use and adapt for future clients. After significant discussions of the pros and cons involved, that client elected to form an S-Corp instead of the more common LLC and that post will talk about the costs and benefits of each.
- I will tell you about a recording artist who needed my help in purchasing full and exclusive rights to the instrumentals on her record as well as recordation and registration of the copyrights associated with her new LP. My goal in this case, as always, was to help my client as much as possible without disrupting their daily lives, absent an emergency.
Some of the posts will be anonymous or have key details changed to protect my client's confidentiality; any client who is identified by name will have given specific consent to have their story told. Confidentiality and attorney-client privilege is of paramount importance and will never be waived or otherwise limited without your express permission.
So if you wish to know more about the work that's been keeping me busy and the plans I have for the future, check back in here for updates, which will also, of course, be posted to the firm's social media accounts.
