Sending a Take-Down Notice.
When you find a misuse of your proprietary work, you need to send a letter demonstrating your right to the image and all of the incidents of infringement. But a lot of times, you can't find the infringer, but you can find their ISP provider and get them to take it down on their own. This is one place where registration can be helpful, you cannot get statutory damages without registration. But at my cost for a take down notice, you can afford to have an attorney track down the ISP and send the notice and protect your interests.
Receiving a Take-Down Notice.
This is a harder notice to get. If you are infringing and just posting someone's work or picture, don't be a jerk, just take it down. (I won't even charge you for that advice.) But if you want to issue a Counter Notification, saying essentially "I am not violating your copyright because of [xyz] reason," that is an altogether more complicated situation. If you make this choice, I can help you draft the letter, but I will have to help you find an attorney because, in short, you're saying you're willing to sue to keep the image up. (Though negotiation could work out a license agreement that could clear up the issue.)

Digital Millennium Copyright Act Take-Down Notice
Essentially, a DMCA Take-Down notice is the way that the owner of a copyright can order that their copyrighted work, that they can confirm is copyrighted, is being misappropriated on that website. Generally, the help of an attorney was considered too expensive to seek help with these notices, but my flat rate allows you to know precisely what you will owe. My services will include finding the correct person, notifying them of the violation, considering whether the use is fair use, and help you decide what to do if you receive a counter notification. Don't know what most of that means or how to do it, it's okay because I do and I can help you out with it.
